Shannon LaBrie fuses the raw edge of classic soul with atmospheric pop and a subtle country inflection that resonates with Americana listeners. Residing in Nashville, she channeled her early travels into a first album that drew parallels to both Grace Potter and Norah Jones, then expanded her palette on the richer 2016 release War & Peace alongside various EPs and joint projects.

Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, LaBrie picked up her initial guitar chords from her father prior to his death when she turned 13. Following a stretch of adolescent defiance and exploration, she discovered her footing as a performer and writer, which eventually led her to Nashville. Her opening record, Just Be Honest, arrived in 2013 and displayed a self-assured blend of rock drive, pop hooks, and timeless soul elements laced with the country scenes she encountered there. In the ensuing years she generated a steady stream of releases, including multiple EPs, singles, and the more refined 2016 album War & Peace. A 2017 partnership with Robert Randolph prompted him to include her composition “She Got Soul” on his Grammy-nominated set Got Soul. Working with Kenny Childers produced the EP Forevermore. She also crossed into dance territory by contributing vocals to “Head Down” from the German electronic pair Boogie Pimps. Further singles emerged, culminating in an agreement with Moraine Records that yielded the holiday EP Home from Anywhere and the 2020 track “Firewalker.”
