Biography
Shareefa, known as "the soul of Disturbing tha Peace," lived her first 14 years in New Jersey before moving to Charlotte, North Carolina. Teddy Riley of Guy and Blackstreet became the earliest major industry contact to offer her direction once he discovered her voice. Ludacris then placed the gritty R&B vocalist on his Def Jam-linked Disturbing tha Peace roster and imprint. Her two guest spots on the crew’s late-2005 project, most notably "I'll Be Around," created strong interest in her debut full-length, Point of No Return, which surfaced in fall 2006. Riley joined Chucky Thompson (Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans) and Rodney Jerkins (TLC, Britney Spears) in supplying songs and production.
