Biography
Following a contentious parting in 2012 from indie pop duo He Is We, where she had served as lead vocalist alongside Trevor Kelly, Rachel Taylor faced mounting health complications ultimately identified as ankylosing spondylitis, the chronic inflammatory disease affecting the axial skeleton that comprises the skull, spine, ribs, and sternum. Forced to exit the band’s touring commitments, she saw a replacement singer installed as the group carried on under an altered name. Taylor subsequently launched a solo career with the 2014 release of her extended play Come Alive on Republic. The next year she unveiled the new project She Is We, which delivered the late-2015 singles “Boomerang” and “Flatlining.” Her debut full-length album War, issued through Concord Music Group, was slated to arrive in early 2016.
