A character from the Wonder Woman comics inspired the name chosen by San Francisco duo Silver Swans, who initiated their collaboration in soft, sweet electronic pop during 1997. The project originated when vocalist Ann Yu, previously of LoveLikeFire, joined forces with multi-instrumentalist Jon Waters on a single track that quickly evolved into an ongoing endeavor. Issued in 2009 on Tricycle Records as their debut single, "Realize the Ghost" paved the way for an eight-song EP bearing the same title on that label two years later. Secrets appeared as another self-released EP in 2010, after which the pair paused activities until resurfacing late in 2011 with a Fleet Foxes cover of "He Doesn't Know Why" and generating attention through their early-2012 rendition of Lana Del Rey's "Video Games." Slick production values received further polish on the 2012 full-length debut Forever. Twentyseven issued Touch in 2013, by which point the duo had incorporated chilly Chromatics-style disco elements to yield their most compelling work so far.
