Biography
Sir Dyno, affiliated with DarkRoom Familia, ranked among the earliest Chicano hardcore rappers to register an impact along the West Coast. His first recordings appeared in 1996, both within the Chicano supergroup DarkRoom Familia on Barrio Love and on his own through the solo project Interview With a Chicano. He maintained ties to the Familia while continuing to issue solo albums across the rest of the decade, gaining broad notice for his reflective portrayals of barrio existence in California, above all its harsher realities of narcotics, aggression, and the constant drive to endure. Brown Power issued a pair of Sir Dyno albums in 2002, Engrave These Words on My Stone and the best-of anthology Good Times, Bad Times.
