Biography
From 1994 until 2001 the emo and indie rock outfit Six Going on Seven issued three full-length albums plus assorted one-off singles and compilation tracks across their eight-year span. Drawing cues from Fugazi through Jawbreaker to Buffalo Tom, the trio comprised Josh English on vocals and bass, Will Bartlett on drums, and James Bransford on guitar. Following an opening single on Hydra Head, the band linked up with the Some label and tracked 1997's Self-Made Mess inside Dave "The Snake" Sabo's New Jersey studio, the same facility tied to Skid Row. Heartbreak's Got Backbeat arrived two years afterward, while the group's last effort, American't (Or Won't), surfaced in 2001 through Big Wheel Recreation. As the years advanced, the group's sound grew smoother and more refined, with English moving away from his earlier throaty vocal style.
