Skagarack

Established in 1985 by singer Torben Schmidt and guitarist Jan Petersen, the Danish melodic hard rock quintet Skagarak completed its lineup with the arrival of keyboardist Tommy Rasmussen, bassist Morten Munch and drummer Alvin Otto. Drawing from Whitesnake, Night Ranger and Boston, the group moved beyond its AOR origins toward a heavier, more forceful approach that surpassed the promise of the self-titled debut. Torben Schmidt’s vocals echo those of David Coverdale in their melodic power and emotional depth, confirming Skagarak as a strong outfit whose evident promise has still not extended beyond Scandinavia.
