Originating in Kiel, Germany, the hard rock outfit Smoke Blow emerged as a multi-headed beast whose sonic approach drew from the Rolling Stones, Saint Vitus, the Cure, and Black Flag. The infamous G.G. Allin also figured among their touchstones, with the group channeling the late gross-out punker's raw energy during performances. Jack Letten on vocals, MC Straßenköter on vocals, Kentucky on guitar, Gerrard the J.R. on guitar, Greif Hellhammer on bass, and Fabrizio on drums comprised the lineup that issued its debut recording, Smoke's A-Blowin' Black As Coal, in 1999. The new century opened with 777 Bloodrock, after which the band delivered 2001's Punkadelic -- The Godfather of Soul, 2003's German Angst, and 2005's Dark Angel. Following a brief lull, Smoke Blow resumed its assault with the 2008 album Colossus.
