Sono

The German electronic outfit Sono unites three core members: producer Florian Sikorski, songwriter and producer Martin Weiland, and singer Lennart A. Salomon. After completing studies at Hamburg's Conservatory of Music, Florian Sikorski (born 1975) first entered electronic music through a role as sound programmer at a recording studio and launched his DJ career in 1993. Martin Weiland (born 1975), who works as a sound engineer and DJ/producer, came aboard two years after that. The configuration reached completion when Lennart A. Salomon, raised chiefly under the sway of contemporary jazz and funk during his U.K. upbringing, joined the lineup.

Sono first appeared in 2001 via the single "Keep Control." That chart-topping release later surfaced on Universal Records' compilation Global Hits 2002.
