Marek Hemmann

From the mid-to-late 2000s into the first years of the following decade, Marek Hemmann ranked among the steadiest rather than the busiest creators working in Germanic, minimal-leaning techno. His earliest 12-inch records appeared via Milnor Modern and Raum…Musik. Beginning after 2008, most of his material found a home on Jena native Robag Wruhme’s Freude-Am-Tanzen imprint, where he also teamed with Matthias Kaden under the name Hemmann & Kaden. His debut full-length, In Between, surfaced in 2009. Two years afterward came Only Our Hearts to Lose, credited to the Marian duo he formed with Fabian Reichelt and likewise issued on Freude-Am-Tanzen. The third album, Moments, arrived in 2016. Across his career he has reworked dozens of tracks, among them works by fellow artists Anja Schneider, Douglas Greed, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Sweet N' Candy, and Someone Else.
