As one half of the New York duo City Morgue, the rapper SosMula, known onstage as Sleezy, played a central role in shaping the trap-metal style, delivering a sharper and more abrasive foil to the visceral intensity of his partner Zillakami. Following the worldwide breakthrough the pair achieved in the late 2010s through projects such as Vol. 1: Hell or High Water and Vol. 2: As Good As Dead, he stepped out on his own with the 2021 release 13 Songs 2 Die 2 and the follow-up 2 High 2 Die in 2022.

Vinicius Sosa, who adopted the stage name SosMula, spent his early years in São Paulo, Brazil, before relocating to the United States at age eight. After crossing paths with vocalist Zillakami at a tattoo parlor, he joined forces with his new collaborator under the City Morgue banner. Working closely with producer Thraxx, the duo fused trap foundations with dense guitar riffs and pounding percussion to define the trap-metal sound. Within that framework SosMula released the well-received albums Vol. 1: Hell or High Water (2018), Vol. 2: As Good As Dead (2019), and Toxic Boogaloo (2020), his rapid, nasal delivery serving as an effective contrast to Zillakami’s aggressive bark. Although the pair maintained their abrasive hybrid approach across these records, they also ventured into more reflective and tuneful territory on atmospheric cuts such as “Screaming at the Rain” and “Peeling Scabs.”

SosMula’s debut solo full-length, 13 Songs 2 Die 2, arrived in 2021 under the auspices of longtime mixtape host Trap-A-Holics and delved deeper into his caustic, unyielding take on trap. A third City Morgue installment, Vol. 3: Bottom of the Barrel (2021), appeared shortly afterward. In 2022 he returned with his second solo project, 2 High 2 Die, which leaned into rage production and framed his extravagant rhymes with prominently electronic beats.
