Biography
Stevie Parker, an ambient and electro-pop singer-songwriter based in Bath, U.K., introduced her debut single “Never Be” via SoundCloud in April 2015. The track fused heavy, pounding electronic percussion with ringing piano tones, gleaming synthesizer lines, and lush, echoed guitar textures, drawing clear influence from atmospheric pop outfits such as the XX. Her commanding yet melancholic voice drew comparisons to Broods’ Georgia Nott and Hannah Reid of London Grammar. She characterized her style as “pop music with a bit of a dark electronic/ambient twist and an emphasis on lyrics,” yet she only began composing songs in earnest after enrolling at university. Assembling a live band to adapt her material for performance, she secured several appearances on the regional club circuit, supported Aero Flynn, and shared a bill with Jessie J during the Bristol Summer Series 2015. These shows eventually attracted notice from BBC Introducing in the West. By late 2015 she was recording additional material in the studio with plans for a full-length release.
