Biography
Donghae and Eunhyuk, two members of the K-pop boy band Super Junior, launched the group's fifth subunit Super Junior-D&E. Their introduction arrived in 2011 via the energetic party track "Oppa, Oppa," which later appeared on the chart-topping debut EP The Beat Goes On, issued in 2015. The duo also established a foothold in Japan through the 2014 release Ride Me and the 2018 album Style. Additional projects followed into the 2020s, highlighted by Countdown—their first Korean studio album—in 2021, plus the 2024 EPs 606 and Inevitable.
While contributing to Super Junior's run of number one albums and the worldwide hit "Sorry, Sorry" throughout the latter half of the 2000s, the pair had already gained separate experience in the earlier subgroups Super Junior-T, Super Junior-M, and Super Junior-H before forming this subunit in 2011. Further successes came with the 2013 single "Still You" and 2015's "Growing Pains."
A reworked take on "Oppa, Oppa" brought Super Junior-D&E onto the Japanese charts at number two in 2012 and served as the lead track for their Japanese debut album Ride Me in early 2014. They sustained momentum there with the 2015 EP Present before entering mandatory military service. After returning in 2018, the duo managed simultaneous activities in Korea and Japan, delivering the sophomore Japanese LP Style alongside the Korean EP Bout You, one of their strongest sellers to date. Danger appeared in early 2019, followed by the fourth EP Bad Blood in 2020.
Countdown, their first official Korean studio album, arrived in 2021 and reached the Top 10 in both South Korea and Japan. Contract negotiations then kept the pair largely out of view for a couple of years until their 2024 return under new management, which began with the EP 606. After releasing the second Japanese EP You&Me, they closed the year with another Korean EP, Inevitable.
