Biography
Alan Welsh and James Trood, both formerly of the underground math-rock outfit Colour, launched Tangled Hair. Alex Lloyd completed the lineup, after which the trio began laying down material for their first recordings. Their debut, the fittingly named First EP, surfaced in 2009 and replicated the atypical rhythms together with the irregular time signatures that marked Colour’s work. The Apples EP followed in 2011. Tangled Hair eventually delivered their first full-length album, We Do What We Can, in 2018. The single “Nao Is My Driver” appeared ahead of its release.
