Biography
Originating in Montreal, Gulfer fuses emo-punk, math rock, grunge, and shoegaze through explosive musicianship and vulnerable lyrics. Formed in 2011, the lineup centers on David Mitchell (bass/vocals), Vincent Ford (vocals/guitar), Joe Therriault (guitar/vocals), and Julien Daoust (drums). The group delivered two splits and an EP before issuing their first full-length, What Gives, in 2015. Top Shelf Records noticed the album and signed them, paving the way for Dog Bless in 2018. Their self-titled third LP followed in 2020, showcasing further refinement of their technical skills. Four years after that, they released Third Wind, their fourth and final album, after disclosing plans to disband earlier in the year.
