Biography
Formed in 2009, the emo-revival outfit You Blew It! projects the aura of a forgotten 1990s act. Rooted in Orlando, Florida, the group channels the raw emotion, doubt, and drive typified by the Get Up Kids and Cap’n Jazz, producing a sound instantly recognizable to listeners who associate the Initial Records roster with their formative years. A self-titled EP marked their first release that same year, followed by the 2010 EP The Past in the Present. Their debut full-length, Grow Up, Dude, appeared in 2012, while the follow-up Keep Doing What You’re Doing arrived in early 2014. After the initial EP, personnel shifts occurred repeatedly; however, the configuration that recorded the 2014 album remained intact long enough to issue Abendrot in 2016, marking the first occasion their songwriting reflected a noticeably more seasoned perspective.
