Teräsbetoni

The courageous Finnish heavy metal outfit Teräsbetoni, a name translating to “reinforced concrete,” comprises vocalist/bassist Jarkko Ahola, drummer Jari Kuokkanen, and guitarists Arto Jarvinen and Viljo Rantanen. Embodying a warrior spirit, the group presses forward with its raw and resolute style of metal shaped by the influence of Manowar and Dio. The band came together in 2002; after placing several tracks online, it attracted notice from Warner Music’s Finnish branch and secured a contract. Its debut full-length, Metallitotuus, appeared in 2005, earned platinum certification, and surpassed 30,000 copies sold throughout Finland. Roughly twelve months afterward came the follow-up Vaadimme Metallia, which moved more than 15,000 units on the day of release.
