Falkenbach

Falkenbach operates as the solo black metal endeavor led by multi-instrumentalist Vratyas Vakyas, previously the guitarist in Crimson Gates. Though he resides in Düsseldorf, Germany, unverified accounts place his origins in Iceland, aligning with his embrace of the style’s expansive approach that incorporates keyboards, Viking motifs, and folk elements—possibly explaining the fabricated Icelandic backstory. Since launching the Falkenbach name in 1995 with the sudden appearance of three demos titled Laeknishendr, Skinn Av Sverdhi Sol Valtiva, and Asynja, Vakyas completed the albums ...En Their Medh Riki Fara in 1996 and ...Magni Blandinn Ok Megintiri in 1997, after which he shifted focus to running his own imprint, Skaldic Art Productions. Falkenbach resurfaced in 2003 when he enlisted vocalist Tyrann, guitarist Hagalaz, and drummer Bolthorn for the third album Ok Nefna Tysbar Ty, yet reverted to performing alone for the follow-up Heralding the Fireblade issued in 2005.
