Biography
Forming in 2002, Connecticut hardcore unit the Distance moved straight into laying down their earliest demo recordings, a portion of which surfaced on 7" vinyl in the following years via independent outlets including Takeover and Bridge Nine. The group’s lineup consisted of vocalist Jay Reason, guitarist Jon Dobyns, bassist James "Chino" Ward, and drummer Lonn Bologna. Bridge Nine put out their six-track EP Your Closest Enemies in 2004, and the band contributed three songs to a split CD with in-state rivals With Honor that Martyr Records issued in 2005. Their first full-length release, the CD/DVD package The Rise, the Fall and Everything in Between, came out on Abacus Recordings in 2006.
