The Parachute Club

Genre: Pop
Origin: U.S.A
Listen on Coda
In 1977 Lorraine Segato, who supplied vocals, guitar and percussion, joined forces with Billy Bryans on drums and percussion to launch the Parachute Club alongside Margo Davidson on saxophone, percussion and vocals, Lauri Conger handling keyboards, synthesizer and vocals, and bassist Steve Webster, each of them already seasoned from earlier groups. Their self-titled debut did not surface until 1983, by which time percussionist Julie Masi and guitarist Dave Gray had been added to the lineup. Once Steve Webster exited, Russ Boswell took the bass chair for the tour supporting that first album, only to be replaced by Keir Brownstone in time for the 1984 release At the Feet of the Moon. Before the Parachute Club dissolved in 1989, two further studio albums appeared: Moving Thru' the Moonlight in 1985 and Small Victories in 1986. The year after the breakup Lorraine Segato put out her solo album Phoenix, and the 1992 compilation Wild Zone: The Essential Parachute Club followed.
