Biography
The Sweeplings formed as a folk-pop duo when Washington-born Cami Bradley joined forces with Alabama-born Whitney Dean. Dean, who had previously toured alongside Civil Wars singer/songwriter John Paul White, first encountered Bradley while she competed on the NBC reality series America's Got Talent. Impressed by her vocal delivery, he contacted her about collaborating on new material. Their initial in-person meeting during a 2014 trip to Spokane produced an instant creative spark, giving rise to a long-distance creative alliance. An early four-song EP together with several standalone singles displayed their affinity for ethereal, intimate vocal blends and a roots-leaning style reminiscent of the Civil Wars alongside more mainstream-leaning indie folk outfits. The pair issued their first full-length record, Rise & Fall, in 2015.
