Biography
Born Tim Blair, Bronx rapper Tim Dog escalated the entrenched coastal rivalries in hip-hop via his 1991 album Penicillin on Wax. The single "F--- Compton" provoked responses and retorts from artists on both coasts, turning the project into an underground favorite even without broad commercial traction. On the 1993 follow-up Do or Die, his mix of leering and fiery delivery, pointed attacks, and sharp beats reached a still higher intensity.
