Biography
A Swedish pop outfit known for its ethnic style, Timoteij first drew widespread attention at Melodifestivalen in 2010 and soon afterward launched its chart-topping debut album Längtan in the same year. The quartet was assembled in Skara, Sweden, during 2008 and consists of Cecilia Kallin (vocals, guitar; born in 1991 in Falköping, Sweden), Bodil Bergström (vocals, accordion; born in 1991 in Skara, Sweden), Elina Thorsell (vocals, flute; born in 1991 in Skövde, Sweden), and Johanna Pettersson (vocals, fiddle; born in 1991 in Tibro, Sweden). Timoteij placed fifth at the 2010 Melodifestivalen while performing the song "Kom." Penned by Karl Eurén, Gustav Eurén, and Niclas Arn, "Kom" rose to number two on the Swedish singles chart and logged eight weeks inside the Top Five overall. Issued through Universal Music, the group's first full-length release, Längtan (2010), registered as a number one smash hit.
