Biography
Having established a distinctive approach to techno, Tobias Schmidt secured album releases on the esteemed imprints Tresor and Telepathic. Born in Scotland before moving to England, he developed recognition initially via singles and EPs issued exclusively on vinyl. Collaborations include work alongside his associate Neil Landstrumm in the project Sugar Experiment Station, as well as alongside Dave Tarrida. Operating solely as a studio producer, Schmidt has undertaken extensive international live performances for dedicated followers and enthusiasts of the genre. Telepathic issued his debut album Immigration in 1995; two subsequent full-lengths appeared thereafter, among them the better-known Dark of Heartness. One year after that record, Destroy arrived in 2000 via the German techno outlet Tresor.
