Undeath

Undeath formed in 2019 as a New York-based death metal act whose approach drew directly from the gore-heavy lineage established by Carcass and Cannibal Corpse, emphasizing raw, old-school ferocity. The band quickly landed a contract with Prosthetic Records, which put out their first full-length, Lesions of a Different Kind, in 2020 and followed it in 2022 with the Billboard-charting It's Time....To Rise from the Grave.

Rochester served as the group’s base. Its original members were vocalist Alex Jones, guitarist Kyle Beam, and drummer Matt Browning; bassist Tommy Wall and second guitarist Jared Welch joined in 2020. The debut EP Sentient Autolysis arrived in 2019 and prompted Prosthetic Records to sign the band at once. Lesions of a Different Kind followed the next year, incorporating guest vocals by Trevor Strnad of the Black Dahlia Murder on the intense title track; the album earned widespread praise and registered on both the U.S. and Canadian Billboard charts. Their second studio album, the cathartic and blood-soaked It's Time....To Rise from the Grave, appeared two years later and reached number 17 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. In November 2022 the band issued its first live album, Live... From the Grave.
