Biography
Emerging from Texas, Frozen Soul delivers extreme metal whose frigid and merciless attack recalls the groundbreaking work of death metal forebears Bolt Thrower, Mortician, and Obituary. The group signed with Century Media in 2020, and their first full-length album, Crypt of Ice, appeared the next year.
Formed in Fort Worth in 2018, the lineup features Chad Green on vocals, Michael Munday on guitar, Samantha Mobley on bass, Matt Dennard on drums, and Chris Bonner on guitar. Their first recording, the 2019 EP Encased in Ice, contained four tracks and included a version of Mortician’s “Witch Coven.” The EP attracted Century Media’s interest, resulting in a contract for the rising old-school death metallers. With former guitarist Daniel Schmuck serving as producer and engineer, the band tracked its debut album, which surfaced in 2021 as Crypt of Ice.
