Biography
During the closing years of the 1990s, French actress and comedienne Valerie Lemercier ventured into music. Her approach merged a hint of kitsch with an appealing sweetness, producing a charm reminiscent of Saint Etienne's Sarah Cracknell and An April March. Issued in 1998 after she signed with March Records for the U.S. and Tricatel for overseas territories, Chante became Lemercier's first album.
