Victor e Leo

The música sertaneja sibling act Victor & Leo attained mainstream prominence throughout Brazil in 2007 through the Sony BMG issue Ao Vivo em Uberlândia. Vitor Chaves Zapalá Pimentel and Leonardo Chaves Zapalá Pimentel, natives of Ponte Nova in Minas Gerais, Brazil, had already performed extensively as musicians well before that commercial ascent. Their first recording together, the 2002 album Victor e Leo, appeared independently. Greater traction arrived with Vida Boa in 2004, which solidified their standing as an ascendant música sertaneja duo, aided by the strong reception of the track "Fada". The independently released live album Ao Vivo from 2006 drew Sony BMG's interest, prompting a major-label deal and the 2007 release of Ao Vivo em Uberlândia. Retaining the stylistic character of its predecessor—which had circulated widely through piracy—the new set introduced original material such as "Fotos" and was issued simultaneously on DVD and CD.
