Will Saul, a London-based figure renowned for his work as a DJ, producer, label founder, and A&R executive, has promoted an array of electronic music genres throughout his career, encompassing deep house, broken beat, dub, breaks, and Detroit techno. His output includes multiple solo and joint singles alongside occasional albums, often partnering with figures like Ursula Rucker, Komon, Lee Jones, and Mike Monday, while his remix credits extend to Kelis, Little Dragon, the Juan Maclean, and Michael Mayer. His adaptable mixing approach has led to appearances in respected series including Balance and DJ-Kicks, along with regular performances at venues such as Fabric, Berghain's Panorama Bar, and Robert Johnson.

Born during 1978 in Glastonbury, England, Saul entered the music business amid his London university studies, serving two years in Sony Music's A&R division and holding a position at Koobla Records before becoming part of the original team at Phonica Records, which evolved into a premier destination for dance music vinyl in the city. In 2003 he established Simple Records to highlight forward-thinking deep house, techno, and electro; his initial solo releases were the electro-breaks tracks "Cliff" and "Fast Lane," and his debut mix CD was Simple Sounds, Vol. 1, created with Sideshow, also known as Fink. The year 2005 saw the arrival of Simple One, a mixed overview of the label's opening ten releases, as well as his first artist album Space Between, featuring co-production from Fink and Tam Cooper plus vocal contributions from poet Ursula Rucker on the track "Tic Toc."

Simple Records continued to thrive as Saul joined forces with Fink to launch Aus Music in 2006, a venture oriented toward experimental tracks with dub elements. Throughout the remainder of the decade the majority of his own singles stayed on Simple, which also hosted the 2007 double-CD mix titled Simple Sounds. EQ Recordings put out his Balance 015 in 2009, a triple-CD effort blending neo-disco, dubstep, and tech-house. Close debuted in 2012 as an outlet for his more pop-oriented, vocal-focused work, leading to the 2013 full-length Getting Closer via !K7. He added a DJ-Kicks installment for the same label the next year and took on an A&R role there, overseeing volumes from artists including Actress, Moodymann, and DJ Koze.

Although Aus Music handled most of his 2010s singles, the 2016 Lost in Time EP arrived on Kompakt in tandem with Komon, formerly Komonazmuk. Saul teamed with Tee Mango to issue material under the Primitive Trust name starting in 2017. The initial edition of Inside Out came in 2018, a project designed to merge album and mix formats by having the DJ solicit original tracks for the collection, featuring contributions from Lone, Martyn, Move D, and additional producers. His solo album Open Too Close appeared in 2019.
