Witherfall

Formed in 2013 in Los Angeles, California, the melodic metal band Witherfall emerged from the ranks of White Wizzard, Into Eternity, and Kobra & the Lotus. Its sound fuses gritty power metal with intricate progressive rock, realized by guitarist Jake Dreyer, keyboardist/vocalist Joseph Michael, guitarist Fili Bibiano, bassist Anthony Crawford, and drummer Steve Bolognese; the group’s original drummer, Adam Paul Sagan, died in 2016. Witherfall’s first release, the independent 2017 album Nocturnes and Requiems, was tracked at the Bunker in Phoenix, Arizona, then mixed and mastered by Chris “Zeuss” Harris (Rob Zombie, Queensrÿche). The eight-song collection earned favorable notice, prompting Sony’s Century Media imprint to sign the band the next year. Witherfall delivered its second album and first major-label outing, A Prelude to Sorrow, in November 2018.
