Biography
Emerging in 2005 with their debut Conspiracy in Mind to widespread praise, the Norwegian progressive metal outfit Communic fuses raw technical precision and incisive melodic lines. The group has continued to deliver a series of favorably received full-lengths, among them The Bottom Deep in 2011 and Hiding from the World in 2020, each one intertwining strands of thrash, power, and progressive metal.
Formed in 2003 after vocalist/guitarist Oddleif Stensland and drummer Tor Atle Andersen parted ways with their former band Scariot, the trio added bassist Erik Mortensen to complete the lineup. Nuclear Blast Records moved swiftly to sign them, resulting in the recording of Conspiracy in Mind and its mid-2005 release, followed by joint tours with Ensiferum and Graveworm. Waves of Visual Decay surfaced the next year, while Payment of Existence appeared in 2008. The Bottom Deep arrived in 2011 as the band’s final studio album for Nuclear Blast. They subsequently joined the German metal roster AFM, issuing their fifth long-player Where Echoes Gather in 2017, before unveiling Hiding from the World three years later.
