Emerging from Mexico as both singer and rapper, Yahir Saldivar reached the charts through lyrics that blended intimate and social themes with an energetic, modern spin on classic cumbia rhythms. His breakthrough arrived in 2024 when the single “SC-9” entered the Billboard TikTok Top 50 and climbed into the Top 20 of the Latin Digital Songs chart, positioning him as a leading figure in the cumbias bélicas movement.

Born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Saldivar displayed an early love of music and drew decisive encouragement from Ariel Camacho to treat it as a career. While still in his late teens he uploaded initial tracks such as “SC-2 (CHORE)” in 2022 and “LA CUMBIA DEL CASTOR” in 2023, which gained modest viral traction alongside other early releases. Real momentum arrived in early 2024 with “SC-9,” also known as “La Chimichanga,” whose social-media surge prompted a signing with DEL Records; the track also appeared on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, finished just outside the TikTok Top 50’s Top 30, and peaked at number 18 on Latin Digital Songs.

After surpassing 100 million streams, Saldivar issued further material before year’s end, including the collaborations “A LA ORDEN” with Santa Fe Klan and “La Caravana” with Bandi2, plus the solo cut “Aquí Seguimos.”
