Biography
Yesterdays Rising came together as a post-hardcore outfit in 2002 within the modest California community of Murrieta, located immediately south of San Bernardino. The lineup of vocalist Brandon Bolmer, guitarists Jon Bloom and Richie Ochoa, bassist Justin Panno, and drummer Jamie Ethridge drew strong inspiration from Rage Against the Machine and the Deftones before stepping into the screamo realm via their independently issued 2003 EP Ship of Relations. Favorable critical notices together with an appearance on the Vans Warped Tour—reportedly making them the youngest act ever featured on that emo-and-punk caravan—prompted the quintet to ink a deal with Fearless Records, the respected California independent that also housed At the Drive-In and Plain White T's. In 2004 the label issued the band’s next EP, When We Speak We Breathe. Their debut full-length, Lightworker, arrived the following July in 2005.
