Biography
Minnesota quintet Four Letter Lie, made up of vocalist Brian Nagan, guitarists and vocalists Kevin Skaff and Connor Kelly, drummer Derek Smith, and bassist John Waltmann, self-released the EP Her Escape in May 2005 right after coming together. The group immediately launched an intensive touring campaign to establish themselves across the melodic hardcore and screamo circuits. Those road efforts quickly drove sales past 1,500 copies while securing spots on multiple 2005 Warped Tour and Taste of Chaos dates. An online fan vote earned them the chance to open Taste of Chaos’ St. Paul show the next year, and by early 2006 the band had signed with Chicago powerhouse Victory Records. Their label debut, Let Your Body Take Over, arrived in late October 2006 and was followed by What a Terrible Thing to Say in February 2008.
