The Color Morale

Formed in 2005, the metalcore outfit the Color Morale hails from Rockford, Illinois. Its lineup comprises vocalist Garret Rapp, guitarists Devin King, Aaron Saunders, and Ramon Mendoza, bassist Justin Hieser, and drummer Steve Carey, whose music blends a pronounced emotional foundation with ferocious bursts of down-tuned, chugging riffs. The group inked a deal with Rise Records in 2009 and issued its first full-length, We All Have Demons, before the year closed. A follow-up, My Devil in Your Eyes, surfaced in 2011 and registered on both the Billboard Heatseekers and Christian charts, even though the members, who describe themselves as Christians, have consistently stated they do not consider the band a Christian act. Their third album, Know Hope, arrived in 2013. After appearing on the Vans Warped Tour in 2014, the Color Morale moved to Fearless Records and delivered their fourth release, Hold On Pain Ends, later that same year; the record featured the tracks “Outer Demons” and “Suicide; Stigma,” the latter of which included guest vocals by Dave Stephens of We Came as Romans. In June 2016 the band unveiled the single “Walls” ahead of their fifth studio album, Desolate Divine, which followed in August.
