Phinehas

Phinehas fuses the punishing realms of heavy metal with Christian ideology as a band based in La Mirada, California. The group surfaced in 2010 and attained crossover success through its third full-length album, Till the End, which registered on both the CCM and mainstream rock charts. Later releases, including Dark Flag in 2017 and The Fire Itself in 2021, continued stretching the limits of hardcore punk, extreme metal, and Christian rock.

Following the 2010 debut full-length Thegodmachine, Phinehas maintained a touring pace nearly as unyielding as its ferocious style. The year 2013 proved especially active, beginning with the EP The Bridge Between and continuing with the summer arrival of the second full-length The Last Word Is Yours to Speak. That album became a breakthrough, climbing to number 41 on Billboard’s Christian Albums chart while also registering on the Heatseekers chart. After transitioning to Warner-distributed Artery Records, the band issued its third LP, Till the End, in 2015. Demonstrating a gentler facet, Phinehas independently released the acoustic EP Fight Through the Night in 2016, then aligned with metal-oriented Christian label Solid State Records for the acclaimed concept album Dark Flag in 2017. Early 2021 brought the unrelenting single “In the Night,” which preceded the fifth full-length effort The Fire Itself.
