Biography
Hailing from Erie, Pennsylvania, the thunderous and faith-driven Christian metalcore act War of Ages delivers a forceful fusion of post-hardcore and screamo laced with melodic, belief-centered death metal. The ensemble originated in 2002 as Point Zero before issuing its debut full-length under the War of Ages banner on Strike First Records in 2005. Momentum from that release propelled the outfit to Facedown Records, where it delivered its second album, Pride of the Wicked, in 2006. As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis handled production duties on both the 2008 Facedown release Arise and Conquer and 2010’s Eternal, adding vocals to the latter. Return to Life, the 2012 effort, was tracked and mixed by Zeuss at Planet Z Studios, with credits including Shadows Fall and Hatebreed. Supreme Chaos arrived in 2014, its aggressive sound shaped by Josh Barber of Norma Jean alongside Will Putney of For Today. In October 2017 the band unveiled the singles “Cut Throat” and “Creator” ahead of Alpha, its eighth studio album, which followed in December. The intense full-length Void surfaced in 2019.
