Youandewan

Berlin-based DJ and producer Youandewan balances upbeat club tracks with reflective, inward-looking productions. Ewan Smith, his given name, grew up in the U.K. and first honed his skills behind the decks and in the studio there. Scarlett, his first EP, came out on Moma Recordings in 2006 and showcased an energetic, floor-focused sound that carried through the subsequent releases. Eventually Smith departed the U.K., ending a long-term relationship in the process, and settled in Berlin. Inside that city, often called Germany’s cultural hub, he composed and tracked his first full-length album, There Is No Right Time, whose cooler, more layered atmosphere mirrored the direction he had been exploring since the move.
