Chicago hip-hop producer Young Chop entered the world as Tyree Pittman in 1993. From an early age he developed a deep fascination with rap and began crafting his own beats at just 11. That initial passion for production intensified over time, leading him to refine his abilities in tandem with childhood friend Chief Keef through beat work on numerous Chief Keef singles. His first full-length project, the 2013 album Precious, highlighted his dual talents as both an emcee and a producer. Even as he continued developing his personal catalog, his production résumé expanded to include contributions to tracks by Soulja Boy, Rick Ross, Big Sean, Ty Dolla $ign, Juicy J, and additional major artists. Precious was succeeded by the 2014 release Still, after which he issued a series of mixtapes and albums throughout the following years while simultaneously enlarging his body of work for many of the genre’s most prominent figures.
