Biography
Embracing the term "healing synth pop" for themselves, the Finnish pair Zebra and Snake tap into the strength of their spirit animals while shaping an uplifting and optimistic strain of retro pop. Friends Matti and Tapio, who bonded in Helsinki through a mutual love of Antony and the Johnsons, originated the project. Though their music retains a moody and atmospheric character, it gains enough warmth and positivity to offset the chill often found in synth pop, substituting instead bright summery tones and floating positive energy. The duo first presented these luminous soundscapes in 2012 through the album Healing Music, issued by the label 100%.
