Biography
Zephaniah OHora resides in Brooklyn, yet the lean, rangy style he creates alongside his band the 18 Wheelers channels the California sound that emerged from Bakersfield during the 1960s. That approach received its first full presentation on the group’s 2017 debut album This Highway. Before forming the 18 Wheelers, OHora served as lead singer of the Honeyfingers, which he entered in 2013. Within that setting he forged a creative partnership with Jim Campilongo, united by a mutual appreciation for truck-driving country music. The 18 Wheelers began strictly as a covers act, but they gradually incorporated OHora’s own songs into their performances. Those additions supplied the core material for the 2017 release This Highway.
