Biography
Abby Sage crafts contemplative indie rock that inhabits dim, enclosed spaces tinted by subdued, cooler hues. Following a pair of favorably received EPs issued in the early 2020s, she issued her first full-length album during 2024.
Born in Toronto, where she spent part of her upbringing alongside time near San Francisco, she absorbed live performances by her father at local venues throughout those years. He introduced her to guitar. The favorable response to a teenage live recording of one of her original songs, which she posted online, prompted her relocation to Los Angeles in pursuit of a professional path in music.
Her initial studio efforts appeared in 2021 and reached completion with the November release of the EP Fears of Yours & Mine. At that stage, still in her early twenties, the project traced the progression of a failed relationship. October 2022 brought the follow-up EP The Florist. The track “Backwards Directions” from this release later received an alternate take with Porches in mid-2023. Additional singles that year, including “Milk” and “Obstruction,” offered early glimpses of the album slated for 2024.
