After linking up with country-rapper Hosier for the 2017 project Made in America, the staunchly pro-military rapper, singer, songwriter, comedian, and YouTube personality Adam Calhoun launched his independent solo path. Beginning with his 2018 debut, he has delivered multiple chart-leading independent projects such as War and Pressure while also issuing joint releases including 2020’s Legend alongside Struggle Jennings and 2022’s The Brave with Tom MacDonald.

Calhoun unveiled the full-length AmerAcal in 2018, an album that leaned into the patriotic themes he promoted online and began with the track “Huck Fosier,” marking his break from his former collaborator. He followed later that year with a second album, The Throne. In February 2019 came the Crazy White Boy EP, recorded with Demun Jones and featuring Upchurch on “Ww2.0.” July brought his third solo album, War, while the collaborative Hooligan with Upchurch closed out the year. During 2020 he issued both Billy G.O.A.T. and Legend, the latter again partnering with Nashville country rapper Struggle Jennings. The next year saw the arrival of Pressure, which quickly reached the summit of the streaming charts, along with the follow-up singles “I Can't Rap” and “No L's,” the second of those a team-up with Canadian rapper Merkules. A further Jennings collaboration, Outlaw Shxt, surfaced in 2021, and 2022 brought The Brave, uniting Calhoun with Canadian rapper and ex-wrestler Tom MacDonald; later that year he released Country Rap Tunes.

In September 2023, Calhoun rejoined MacDonald for The Brave II.
