Alternative singer/songwriter Alemeda crafts breezy rockers shaped by pop-punk alongside confessional acoustic ballads and aching numbers that echo 2-step U.K. garage, all delivered with an instinctively sincere touch. The Sudanese-Ethiopian-American musician launched her independent commercial career in 2021, the same year “Gonna Bleach My Eyebrows” propelled her into viral recognition. Bolstered by that breakthrough and further singles including “Post Nut Clarity,” she joined Top Dawg Entertainment and unveiled her debut EP, FK IT, in 2024.

Rahema Alameda entered the world in Ethiopia and spent her formative years between Addis Ababa and Phoenix. Although pop music was off-limits in the household, exposure to the Disney Channel—from Hannah Montana through the High School Musical franchise—eventually sparked her interest, after which she explored a wide range of indie acts. She first appeared in 2018 under her given name with the assured, funky “Ain’t Fast Enough,” a track that reached Top Dawg Entertainment co-president Moosa Tiffith. In 2020 she earned her initial commercial feature credit, appearing under the name Alemeda on REASON’s TDE-released album New Beginnings; the following year she issued several self-released singles, most prominently the viral “Gonna Bleach My Eyebrows,” a collaboration with producer Henry Was. “Post Nut Clarity” arrived in 2022, a year that also found her on Ibrahim Maalouf’s “Better on My Own” and Ab-Soul’s “Fallacy.”

Following additional standalone releases throughout 2023 and into early 2024, Alemeda formally signed with Top Dawg and made her label debut in September 2024 with the eight-track EP FK IT. The project merged earlier material with new recordings, among them “Gonna Bleach My Eyebrows” and the Stint-produced cuts “Don't Call Me” and “I Already Dug Your Grave.”
