Biography
Amelia Moore crafts left-field pop from her Los Angeles base, favoring a sensual and occasionally experimental approach that first surfaced on the jagged 2021 single “Sweet and Sour.” Its ghostly production and sweeping vocal lines quickly gained traction on streaming platforms, heightening expectations for the seven-track EP teaching a robot to love, which followed in 2022. After joining forces with ASTN and Jxdn, she unveiled her second EP, he’s just not that into you!, in 2024.
Raised in a conservative Christian household in suburban Atlanta, Moore has characterized her trajectory from that sheltered setting to the entertainment industry as “homeschool to Hollywood.” Her earliest performances occurred in church choirs and in various musical theater productions staged by the congregation. Pop music exerted equal pull, and while enrolled at Nashville’s Belmont University she immersed herself in songwriting and production, gravitating toward the unconventional styles of Lorde and Frank Ocean. Several scouting trips to Los Angeles convinced her to leave school and relocate permanently.
The abrupt shift from the traditional South to the industry’s epicenter fueled her artistic growth. She partnered with up-and-coming electronic producer Pink Slip to hone her wide-ranging material and cultivate a bold visual identity. Capitol signed her in 2021, and “Sweet and Sour” immediately connected, blending sultry vocals with glitch-ridden, unsettling soundscapes. Later that year she issued the follow-up “Vinegar” and joined labelmate FLETCHER on a major tour. The debut EP teaching a robot to love arrived in the first half of 2022. Subsequent releases included the ASTN collaboration “Next Door” and the 2023 track “FUMD” featuring Jxdn. Throughout the ensuing year Moore prepared her next project with shadowy, R&B-tinged cuts such as “That Girl” and “Push Up Bra,” both featured on the eight-song he’s just not that into you!.
