Formed in London, indie outfit Another Sky crafts a cinematic blend of post-rock and spectral pop driven by the peculiar, otherworldly singing of Catrin Vincent. Their name, taken from an Emily Dickinson poem, suits the eerie theatricality of their sound. The band’s first full-length effort, I Slept on the Floor, surfaced in 2020 and was followed the next year by the expansive Music for Winter, Vol. 1 EP. Tracks such as “Psychopath” and “Uh Oh!” surfaced in 2023.

Catrin Vincent, guitarist Jack Gilbert, bassist Naomi le Dune, and drummer Max Doohan first connected at Goldsmiths University, where a shared fondness for Talk Talk’s Laughing Stock drew them together. Though each brought distinct influences, their open-ended jam sessions generated a body of material that capitalized on every member’s strengths. Fronted by Vincent’s uncommon, nearly androgynous voice, the resulting intricate, post-rock-inflected pop earned them a contract with Fiction Records, an imprint under Universal. Momentum from the 2018 EP Forget Yourself helped stoke interest in the eventual arrival of I Slept on the Floor two years later.

At the start of 2021 the quartet delivered the somber six-track set Music for Winter, Vol. 1, which mixed new pieces with older songs they reworked together inside Lighthouse studio. After securing a U.S. deal with Republic, Another Sky issued multiple singles across 2023 ahead of their second album, including the harshly colored “Psychopath” and the tightly wound, melodic “Aimee Caught a Moth.”
