Biography
Prior to establishing herself in pop music, Ashlyne Huff refined her songwriting abilities with help from her father, a country producer and session guitarist whose work during her early years included sessions for Michael Jackson, Faith Hill, and Madonna. Childhood participation in dance lessons and music classes led her to enroll at Belmont University’s Music Business program, where she focused on publishing and copyright law alongside her personal songwriting projects. As she neared graduation, Anderson Merchandisers, a national media retailer planning to start its own imprint, recruited her as the inaugural signee to Liquid Digital Media, allowing her to complete her studies before beginning work on a debut full-length project.
In 2008 she contributed a co-written track to the Pussycat Dolls album Doll Domination and started writing sessions with Mike Busbee and Mathias Wollo that would shape her own material. Released in 2010, the self-titled record carried her writing credit on every song, and she promoted it by appearing on Jordin Sparks’ Battlefield Tour that summer.
