Known for her bold rhymes atop energetic beats, Big Boss Vette hails from St. Louis and first cultivated an audience through social platforms while performing as Yvette. Independent releases brought early viral traction via 2019's "Bad Bitch" and 2020's "Outside," after which a label agreement produced further unrestrained singles such as 2022's "Snatched" and "Pretty Girls Walk."

Diamond Smith began rapping while still in high school. The day after she posted her take on DeJ Loaf's 2014 hit "Try Me," the track had already spread widely online, spurring her to keep sharing material. Original songs extended that momentum, delivering another breakthrough with "Bad Bitch" in 2019 and repeating the feat the following year with "Outside." Jointly signed to Amigo Records and Beatstaz under a Republic Records licensing arrangement, she adopted the name Big Boss Vette and debuted on the label in 2021 with "Eater," soon followed by "Big Boss Vette." Her 2022 output featured "Snatched," which later appeared in a remix with Flo Milli and Saucy Santana, alongside "Pretty Girls Walk." The first release of 2023 was a Coi Leray-assisted remix of "Pretty Girls Walk."
