Biography
Detroit rapper Kash Doll projects assurance and strength through her polished, boastful rhymes set against sleek and memorable beats. The 2018 single "For Everybody" quickly secured her a contract with a major label, after which her debut album Stacked arrived via Republic in 2019 and reached the Billboard 200. Her catalog features numerous joint efforts alongside prominent figures such as Iggy Azalea, Big Sean, Juicy J, Meek Mill, and Wale. In 2023 she collaborated with DJ Drama on Back on Dexter: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape.
Born Arkeisha Knight, Kash Doll once worked as an exotic dancer to support her family before stepping away to focus on music, landing her earliest performances around Detroit in 2014. Following a favorably received cover of AV’s “Run Me My Money,” she issued her debut mixtape, K.R.E.A.M. Kash Rules Everything Around Me, in early 2015, with several tracks produced by 808 Mafia’s Purps. Late the following year she dropped the online mixtape Keisha vs. Kash Doll and rolled out several singles, among them “For Everybody,” in 2017.
Now signed to Republic, Kash Doll advanced further in 2018 via the commercial mixtape Brat Mail and the single “Ice Me Out,” the latter benefiting from a 2 Chainz remix. Throughout 2019 she joined Meek Mill on tour, guested on Iggy Azalea’s “Fuck It Up,” received the Spirit of Detroit Award for her charitable efforts through Kash Doll Enterprises, and released her first album, Stacked, which debuted at number 76 on the Billboard 200 on the strength of the Big Sean track “Ready Set.” In 2020 she placed “How It’s Done” on the Charlie’s Angels soundtrack and issued standalone singles such as “Bad Azz,” featuring Latto and Benny the Butcher, along with the Tee Grizzley collaboration “Bossa Nova.” She maintained the pattern of guest-laden releases into 2021 with “Like a Pro” featuring Juicy J and “Single & Happy” featuring Wale and Eric Bellinger, while also appearing alone on “Thumbin.” The track “ABOW” surfaced in 2022, and 2023’s Back on Dexter: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape, again with DJ Drama, showcased Detroit figures including Icewear Vezzo and Babyface Ray.
