Biography
Flo Milli earns acclaim for her playful outlook and nimble rhyme schemes packed with punch lines. Her 2018 single “Beef FloMix,” a bold declaration of self-assurance, sparked an enormous online reaction that lifted the Alabama rapper from relative obscurity to multi-million streaming figures. Capitalizing on that momentum, she issued her debut mixtape Ho, Why Is You Here? in 2020. The widely praised project paved the way for the 2022 studio album You Still Here, Ho? along with later singles such as 2023’s “Nasty Dancer” and “Einstein.” She cracked the Billboard Hot 100 with “Never Lose Me” shortly before unveiling her follow-up album, 2024’s Fine Ho, Stay, which also appeared on the charts.
Raised in Mobile, Alabama, Milli started rapping at the age of eleven. At sixteen she dropped her first single, “No Hook,” in 2015. New tracks surfaced only occasionally in the ensuing years until she reworked the instrumental from Playboi Carti and Ethereal’s hazy cut “Beef” in 2018, laying the groundwork for wider recognition. Retitled “Beef FloMix,” the track’s commanding verses turned it into a sharp rebuke of potential critics and began drawing its own listeners. Internet users then paired the song with their own dance clips, propelling it further; streams soon climbed into the millions while the accompanying video accumulated millions of views. Additional viral releases followed, including 2019’s “In the Party” and a run of 2020 tracks such as “Not Friendly,” “Weak,” and “Like That Bitch.”
During this period Milli secured a deal with RCA, and the strongest cuts plus unreleased material were assembled into her first mixtape, Ho, Why Is You Here?, which arrived in July 2020. The project landed in the upper half of the Billboard 200, and she received a nomination for Best New Artist at the BET Hip Hop Awards. She kept up a schedule of guest spots and standalone singles, among them “Roaring 20s” in 2021 and “PBC” in 2022. Her debut studio album, You Still Here, Ho?, appeared in July 2022. Subsequent releases included the Ludacris collaboration “Buying All Black” as well as “Nasty Dancer” and “Einstein” in 2023.
Following an expanded version of You Still Here, Ho?, she joined Trina, Maiya the Don, and J.K. Mac on the track “No Love Shemix.” Appearances on Saucy Santana’s “Whole Family” and another Maiya the Don collaboration, “Anything Flows,” which also featured 2Rare and Kari Faux, came next. After further solo efforts such as “Fruit Loop” and “Chocolate Rain,” she issued the seductive “Never Lose Me,” later adding a remix with Lil Yachty. The song marked her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and preceded her second studio album, Fine Ho, Stay, released in March 2024 and debuting at number 54 on the Billboard 200.
